KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Shahid Nadeem Baloch, has called for extraordinary security during the annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
In a statement on Saturday, he directed that there be strict checking of the entry and exit points as well as the main route.
The IGP instructed that the patrolling by the police stations concerned as well as snap checking be also ensured and that intelligence be enhanced in the area to help tackle any untoward incident.
He stressed that for public safety the security measures be made concrete during the three-day Urs, in collaboration with the management.
The IGP directed that a vigilant eye be also kept at the stalls set up during the `Mela’ besides arrangements for technical sweeping and clearance.
There should be appropriate steps for no parking or any encroachments on the main route to the Dargah and around.
