ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in its post-Hajj operation achieved above 90 percent punctuality.
Talking to APP, spokesman of PIA Muhammad Mashhood Tajwar said, “The record punctuality percentage in post-Hajj operation has been achieved due to collective efforts of PIA staff.”
“Some of the flights departed from Jeddah Hajj Terminal even before the scheduled departure time, he added.
He said performance of the airline can be judged from the fact that it has completed the post-Hajj operation ahead of the schedule time. The earlier announced schedule time for
concluding post-Hajj PIA operation was November 19.
Tajwar said that Saudi Arabia aviation has also announced award for PIA due to its remarkable performance in the operation.
About the delay of some flights, he said the airlines of over 150 countries are conducting post-Hajj operation from Jeddah Airport, which often causes delays due to variety of reasons.
PIA has brought back more than 67,000 hajis to Pakistan through 230 post- Hajj flights and regular scheduled flights.
He also lauded the performance of Passenger Handling Unit and PIA Scouts deputed at Jeddah Hajj terminal.
The spokesman said Saudi government this time has allocated ten terminals for PIA for the speedy clearance of Hujajj.
