A division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday adjourned till November 22 the hearing of an application seeking removal of the name of former President Pervez Musharraf from Exit Control List (ECL) due to the absence of the Deputy Attorney General.
Musharraf in an application pleaded the court to review its earlier order through which it had restrained him from leaving the country without the permission of the trial courts and put his name on ECL.
It was submitted that the trial courts had granted bails in the cases against him and he wanted to go to Dubai to enquire the health of his ailing mother. It was also maintained that the placement of his name on ECL was a violation of fundamental rights. In previous hearing on November 12, the SHC had issued for November 18 notices to the respondents, including the federal law officer, Advocate General Sindh and others, seeking their comments in response to Musharraf’s application.
