KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) announced to protest Friday’s bombings today; while, Shia Ulema Council will observe the mourning for three days across Sindh, media reported Saturday.
In his statement, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain appealed to the people to hoist black flags at their houses and shops to peacefully protest the Ancholi bombings followed by Quran Khwani for the eternal peace of the departed souls.
Transport and businesses will run in the province as usual on today’s mourning day, he added.
Meantime, Shia Ulema Council condemned the blasts and announced three-day mourning across the province. The council says in its statement that government failed to provide security to its people.
The city’s trader community also backed up the call for mourning against the inhuman act of spilling blood of innocent citizens. All Karachi Tajir Ittehad leaders announced that commercial areas will remain open today; however, black flags will be hoisted on markets.
