ISLAMABAD: The lawyers announced to wrap up a day-long sit-in on late Tuesday night after successful dialogue with administration.
Kamran Murtaza, president Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) announced to end sit-in which was begin after lawyers have a scuffle with the police who intercepted them to enter into the premises of the Supreme Court.
It is to mention that the lawyers from Punjab was protesting before the Supreme Court Building while demanding establishment of high court benches in the five divisions of Punjab, including Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan.
The police blocked the protestors from entering into the Supreme Court premises and fired tear-gas, baton charge to disperse the protesters.
The protesters pelted stones in retaliation, as the result the glasses of the building were broke into the pieces, the Assistant Commissioner of Islamabad Muhammad Ali got injured as well.
The protest which was turned into violent and some police officials and lawyers got injured which were later admitted to the hospital.
After which the lawyers fraternity condemned the police action and called sit-in before the building which was started after the incident immediately.
