KARACHI: The Sindh government on Tuesday issued a notification through which a new district is created in Karachi, raising the number of districts in the city to six, media reports.
According to the notification, a new district of Korangi has been carved out after revising boundaries of other five districts.
Following the new notification, administratively Karachi will now be divided into six districts. Other five districts are South, East, West, Central and Malir.
Sindh opposition parties including MQM have already rejected the move while PML (N) has also said that it will challenge the decision in the court of law.
