KARACHI: The Coordinator of the Sindh Chief Minister, Ms. Nadia Gabol, here on Monday visited the `Apna Ghar’ established at the Edhi Centre.
She met with the female inmates of the `Apna Ghar’ and ascertained their problems.
The Coordinator’s visit coincided with the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Nadia Gabol said that the incidents of violence against women were a stigma.
She stated that there were laws against such violence but these must be implemented in letter and spirit for the eradication of such a trend in the society.
Nadia Gabol said that the government has undertaken steps for the eradication on violence against women.
She also asked the females to raise their voice against violence at every level.
Nadia Gabol also referred to the contribution of women in the process of development in various sectors.
