ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will preside over a meeting of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee (NJPMC) on Saturday, to review the performance of district judiciary and disposal of old cases.
The meeting would be held in the conference room of Supreme
Court Building Islamabad.
The meeting will review the reports regarding the submission of challans, allocation of funds for strengthening the district judiciary in terms of human resource and infrastructure of model jail in Islamabad.
The meeting will also look into the matter pertaining to the misuse of section 489-F.P.P.C relating to dishonor of cheques and expedites disposal of cases of overseas Pakistanis.
Moreover, the recommendations’ of International Judicial Conference and one day workshop on prisoners vulnerability – lacking awareness will be approved.
According to Law and Justice Commission,the meeting will be attended by Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court, Justice Agha Rafiq Ahmed Khan,Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Chief Justice High Court of Balochistan,Chief Justice High Court of Sindh, Justice Maqbool Baqir Justice Dost Muhammad Khan, Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Chief Justice Lahore High Court,Chief justice of Islamabad High Court ,Muhammad NAwar Khan Kasi and Secretary Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.
