We are proud of Malala: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan expressed disappointment over Malala Yousafzai’s not winning the Nobel Peace Prize, saying even her nomination for the prize was an honor for all Pakistanis, media reports on Friday.

In a press release, the PTI chairman said “We are proud of this daughter of Pakistan who had to suffer trauma at a young age because she stood for the right of girls’ education”.

Khan’s PTI also welcomed the recognition of the veils of Chemical Weapons with the award going to the Organisation for Prevention of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

Earlier today, the Norwegian Nobel Committee decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2013 was to be awarded to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for its extensive efforts to eliminate chemical weapons.
