ISLAMABAD: Former Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen has urged the government to focus on strengthening trade ties with the United States.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said the United States has provided financial assistance to Pakistan during recent years but now it is time to make efforts to get access the American markets.
Shaukat Tareen said Pakistan can compete in US markets with its textile and leather products.
He said there is a need to develop value-added industries to boost exports.
He said Pakistan is a suitable investment place and urged the American companies to invest in all sectors, especially power and energy.
