ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Monday the disqualification of Member of National Assembly Sumaira Malik, belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz, over possession of fake degree.
The SC had reserved the ruling in a case pertaining to alleged bogus degree of PML-N leader and MNA Sumaira Malik. The court also declared 2008 notification as null and void, declaring her successful in 2008.
A three-member bench of the apex court led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing pertaining to possession of fake degree by the PML-N lawmaker and suspended the March 2008 notification announcing the victory of Ms Malik from NA-69 constituency in Khushab.
The court furthermore instructed the election commission to take necessary action in this regards.
Earlier on Oct 9, the court had reserved its judgement on the case.
