KAHUTA, Rawalpindi: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday visited Kahuta nuclear plant where army top brass briefed him over safety of country’s nuclear assets, media reported.
It was Nawaz Sharif’s first visit to the atomic research plant since assuming the office in May this year.
According to the officials, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen Khalid Shameem Wynne and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani also accompanied the PM.
During his visit, Nawaz Sharif was briefed by chief of Strategic Plans Division Lt. Gen. (retd) Khalid Kidwai pertaining to safety and security measures for nuclear assets. The PM was apprised that Pakistan’s nuclear assets are completely safe and secure.
