JEDDAH: Chief Hajj coordinator Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Shahnawaz Rehman said here on Friday that PIA has observed 95 percent punctuality in its ongoing post-flight operations.
Talking to APP, he said that some of the flights departed from Jeddah Hajj Terminal even before the scheduled departure time.
“All of it was possible due to collective efforts of PIA staff deputed at Jeddah Airport,” he added.
He said that PIA Passenger Handling unit and PIA Scouts deputed at Jeddah Hajj terminal were providing information, guidance and assistance to returning Hajjis at the airport.
Hajjis are being assisted in filling immigration cards and directed to concerned counters right till boarding on the aircraft.
PIA is making all efforts in providing best services to the returning hajjis, he added.
Saudi government has given ten terminals for the speedy clearance of hujajj at Haj terminal.
To a question, he said PIA had started hajj operation arrangements six months ago.
He said around 143,000 people had performed Hajj under government scheme while around 86,000 under private tour scheme.
This year due to ongoing construction and extending of facilities at Khana e Kaaba, the Saudi government has reduced Hajj quota by 20 percent.
PIA will bring back more than 67,100 Hajis to Pakistan through 215 post-Hajj flights and regular scheduled flights.
The post-Hajj operation will conclude on November 19, the PIA official added.
