Peshawar Police chalk out security plan for Eidul Azha

PESHAWAR: The City Police have chalked out comprehensive security plan to avoid untoward incident on the holy occasion of Eid ul Azha.

Officials in Police Department told APP on Monday that as per the plan, extra contingent of police would be deployed in various sensitive areas of the provincial capital to thwart any bid of terrorism.

CCTV Cameras in important locations were also installed while security of Govt installations was beefed up.

The entry of motorcycles and other vehicles in crowded markets have been banned and policemen in plain clothes were deployed in various sensitive areas and shopping centres keeping in the view the prevailing law and order situation.

The ladies police were also deployed in the markets whereas SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to intensify patrolling in their areas.

The SHOs were further directed to hold meetings with elders of the areas to keep close vigil on their surrounding and inform police in case of seeing any untoward incident. Policemen would also be deployed on Mosque during prayer of Eid.

Walkthrough gates and scanners would also be installed at main Eid congregations for the safety of the citizens.

Traffic police deployment in roads leading to shopping areas, markets will be augmented while the police mobile will patrol in their respective areas to facilitate the general public.
