ISLAMABAD: Dr. T. C. Raghavan Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan called on the Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar in Islamabad Sunday.
While talking to the Indian High Commissioner the Finance Minister referred to the recent meeting held between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh in New York and termed it as a good.
The Indian High Commissioner said that there was a very good appreciation in India of Mr Nawaz Sharif’s views on India- Pakistan relations and a large number of people in both the countries want better relations.
The Indian High Commissioner said that though the volume of trade between the two countries was sizeable yet there was a great potential that needs to be tapped.
The Indian High Commissioner said that the trends of shopping by Indians visiting Pakistan reflect that there is a high demand of Pakistani goods in India.
Raghavan expressed the hope that the relaxation in visa restrictions for business persons of both the countries would help in increased trade between the two countries.
The Finance Minister said that Pakistan wants good relations with India and the government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wants an early beginning of the composite dialogue process between the two countries so that progress on all issues can be made between the two countries. NNI
