Pakistan railways reduces losses by 20 percent

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has managed to reduce its per day financial loss from one hundred million rupees to eighty million rupees by taking concrete steps during the first one hundred ten days of the present Government.

This was stated by the Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique while highlighting the performance of Pakistan Railways in Lahore on Monday.

He said the project of purchasing seventy-five locomotives and one hundred seventy-five EMD locomotives‚ while Lahore-Faisalabad track doubling project have been dropped.

The Minister clarified that all the departmental decisions will be taken strictly on merit‚ with no interference by himself or by the GM.
