WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State John F. Kerry held the relations between Pakistan and the US as highly important during a meeting with Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, who is in the US on a four-day visit, media reported Tuesday.
The PM commenced his visit from a meeting with the US Secretary of State and discussed with him several issues including bilateral relations, the situation in the region and agenda of the meeting with the US President Obama.
Terming the Pak-US ties as highly important, Kerry noted Pakistan’s role is vital for peace and security in the region.
During the meeting held in a cordial atmosphere, the two leaders agreed upon that stable and secure Pakistan is in the interest of both the countries.
It should be mentioned here that Nawaz Sharif will call on President Barack Obama on October 23 to discuss several issues including strategic dialogue, the strengthening of national economy, Kashmir dispute and Afghan peace process.
