KARACHI: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved increase in the power tariff by 32 paisas per unit.
The power tariff is being increased under fuel adjustment plan for the month of September.
According to NEPRA, the increase in power prices is made due to the increase of crude oil prices in the world.
The increase would be effective after the issuance of notification of the federal government, the NEPRA officials said.
The raise was made in a hearing of the NEPRA officials where government officials presented their stance.
The increase in per unit price is not applicable on consumers of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC).
