MQM likely to join Sindh government

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday decided to join the Sindh government and senior leaders of the party have gathered in the emirate of Ajman, UAE, where the latter has formally invited MQM to join the Sindh government.

According to sources that the Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Babar Ghori from Karachi and Nadim Nusrat from London had reached Dubai on the directives of Altaf Hussain to review the decision.

They said that a meeting of the MQM leaders with Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari was expected within next 24 hours.

The sources added that PPP leader and former interior minister Rehman Malik would also attend the meeting.
