IGP for effective security during Urs of Abdullah Shah Ghazi


KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Shahid Nadeem Baloch, has called for concrete security steps for the protection of lives and property of the people during the Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

A police statement here on Thursday said that the Urs would be held from Zilhaj 20 to 22.
It said that the IGP directed the Additional IGP Karachi to ensure effective security measures during the three-day Urs.

The IGP instructed that there be strict surveillance in the internal portions of the Mazar as well as around the premises and at the central gate by deploying plain-clothed personnel.

He further directed that there should be additional deployment for the security as well.
Walk- through gates be installed at the entrance and sweeping arrangements as well as clearance be also ensured by the staff of the Bomb Disposal Squad, he added.

The IGP also called for random snap checking, picketing and patrolling and that a traffic plan be also prepared for the occasion.
