Hearing of cases against Zardari adjourned till Oct 29

ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court on Monday heard references against former President Asif Ali Zardari and later adjourned the proceeding over nonappearance of Prosecutor NAB (National Accountability Bureau), AAJ News reported.

Judge Muhammad Bashir started today’s proceeding of hearing in five cases filed against Zardari who was earlier enjoying immunity due to his tenure as head of the state.

However, the Prosecutor NAB and any representative of the former president did not turn up despite court notices.

At which, the court expressed its displeasure and issued notice to Zardari again and adjourned the hearing till Oct 29.

NAB’s Additional Deputy Prosecutor General Chaudhry Riaz told the court that Mr. Zardari is out of the country, therefore, notices issued to him were not complied.

The NAB chairman took notice of Prosecutor’s absence, and directed the officials to pursue the cases and ensure their presence in the court.
