Governor, SAFRON minister discuss IDP’s repatriation, rehab programs

PESHAWAR: Federal Minister for SAFRON Lt. Gen. Abdul Qadir Baloch and KPK Governor, Engr. Shaukatullah Friday here discussed prevailing situation in FATA with special focus on repatriation of IDPs to their native places and rehabilitation arrangements.

Matters pertaining to well being of the people of the province also came under discussion between the Governor and Federal Minister.

It was agreed on the occasion that keeping in view the highly encouraging pace of progress in all respects, the government will continue to implement rehabilitation projects as priority subject.

Pace of progress on the ongoing reforms process both in respect of strengthening of administrative machinery and ensuring protection of basic rights of the respective people also came under discussion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor while highlighting the priority aspects of the development activities in FATA said that special focus has been placed on completion of the ongoing development schemes and as a result most of the projects, lingering on since long have been completed.

The Governor said that while maintaining promotion of education and healthcare facilities in entire FATA as priority programmes, special measures will be continued to promote economic activities and generate employment opportunities for the respective people.

In this connection he also mentioned the recently inaugurated Momand Marble City project and said that indeed concrete steps are required to launch similar projects at suitable sites in different tribal agencies as well.
