Around 60 cyclists to chip in National Cycling Race


ISLAMABAD: Around sixty cyclists will be seen in action in  Peshawar to Wah National Cycle Race that takes place on Sunday, a senior official of Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) said.

“It will be a spectacular event as country’s top cyclists belonging to affiliated units of PCF will chip in it,” Secretary PCF Azhar Ali Shah told APP.

He said that the government officials in Peshawar and Wah had assured all-out support to the PCF to hold the event in a befitting manner. He said that the organizing committee for the event had been formed. Chairman POF Wah, who will be the chief guest of the closing ceremony, will present cash prizes and trophies to the winners of the race, he said.

Azhar said that the PCF was committed to promoting cycling in the country adding that despite all odds the Federation succeeded in organizing the  King of the Mountains Abbottabad to Nathiagali National Cycle Race  and  King of the Hills Islamabad to Murree National Cycle Race  as per schedule of PCF annual event calendar.

Such kind of competitive races not only promote cycling but also encourage and attract the youngsters towards healthy activities, he said.
