ANF recovers 20kg heroin, 40kg opium, 160kg of charas


ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered 20 kilograms of crystal (fine quality heroin), 40 kilograms of opium, 160kg charas and arrested two drug traffickers.

According to press release, ANF Lahore received information that a drug trafficking gang intends to smuggle narcotics from Punjab to Karachi. Resultantly a special ANF vigilance team was placed at the route near Multan.

Vigilance team spotted a suspicious Bedford Truck, registered No.C-9116 near Multan. For re-confirmation the team carried out its surveillance for 100 kilometres, up-till Muzaffargarh. After confirmation the truck was stopped at Chowk Munda and detail examination resulted in recovery of 160kg charas and 40kgs opium.

The charas was packed in 133 packets while opium was placed in 33 packets, each packet weighing 1200 grams. Drugs were tactfully concealed behind seat of driver’s cabin.

Two arrested persons are Muhammad Hanif and Sher Khan, both belong to Jamrud, Khyber Agency.

In another operation, ANF Quetta acting on information recovered 20 kgs Crystal (fine quality heroin) from a Hut near Tasab, District Punjgur. It was placed in 20 packets of one kg each.

In other case ANF Karachi recovered two kgs heroin from a parcel booked by OCS Courier Company. The drugs were tactfully concealed in fabrics. Parcel was sent by Ghulam Hussain residence of Khushab district and was destined for K. Hussain, 11 Park Row 60, 15 HD Leads UK.
