400 ad-hoc doctors of Punjab await 3 months salaries

LAHORE: As many as 400 ad-hoc doctors have been waiting to get their three months salaries from the provincial government of Punjab.

These doctors were hired during the extensive strike from young doctors across the province over provision of ‘required’ facilities. The strike virtually had paralyzed the healthcare infrastructure of the province.

The continuous strike compelled the Punjab government to immediately hire ad-hoc doctors to cater to the health needs of the masses.

According to reports, these doctors have not been paid salaries for last three months.

“We have to feed our kids, we have to pay utility bills, we have to pay tuition fees,” the doctors say, adding “Government should not test our patience by deferring the salaries.”
