LAHORE: Dengue continues to spread its wings in Punjab as three more dengue cases surfaced in Lahore on Monday raising total number of patients to 89.
According to details, dengue virus was detected in three persons shifted to Mayo Hospital Lahore due to high fever.
Most of the dengue cases have been reported in the provincial capital and adjoining districts.
Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday took notice of outspread of dengue and directed the authorities concerned to take steps on immediate basis to stop further spread of dreadful disease.
The provincial health department has claimed that solid steps have been taken to stop the swelling of dengue virus but lack of cooperation from the masses was creating difficulties. They appealed the citizens to keep their homes and surrounding dry to stop the dengue larva breeding and adopt the precautionary measures to keep them and others safe of the disease.
