Targeted operation in Karachi is controversial: MQM

KARACHI: The Mutahidda Quami Movement (MQM) on Friday protested outside press club against the arrest of former MPA Nadeem Hashmi and other party workers.

Addressing the protest rally, MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari said that the criminals were politically patronized in the city of Quaid. He said that some people victimized MQM in past and they want to repeat it. Sabzwari said that MQM would respond to each act of injustice in a political way.

Speaking on this occasion, MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui said that Muhajirs population was being targeted under the pretext of targeted operation. He urged serious sections of the PPP to ponder over the present situation.

MQM leaders Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Amir Khan and others also addressed to the protest rally.

Earlier, MQM Coordination Committee appealed to the workers to register a peaceful protest against the ‘state oppression.’

On Thursday, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain urged the party workers to prepare themselves mentally and physically to confront the government’s action with fortitude.
