Sonia Gandhi to go to US for health check-up

NEW DELHI: Indian Congress Party chief Sonia Gandhi is to go to United States for her health check-up, an exercise she undertakes every year after the surgery in 2011.

The visit this week follows a health scare last Monday that led to her being rushed to AIIMS. Sonia participated in the Lok Sabha debate on food bill but took unwell in the evening at the time of voting. However, her discomfiture was because of a viral fever.

The check-up abroad is part of Sonia’s itinerary since she underwent surgery for an undisclosed health problem in August 2011. She also went for a check-up last September.
