ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has strongly condemned the fresh wave of killings by Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir, taking the toll of murdered civilians to four this evening.
He warned that the untoward situation of Shopian had greater ramifications for peace not only across the occupied region, but also regional peace initiatives could suffer due to India’s belligerence towards Pakistan.
He urged on the United Nations, which was deliberating this month the global crisis, should take cognizance of Kashmir’s current wave of state terrorism, and make India answerable on every killing in Kashmir.
Peace can’t return and dialogue on peace and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute can’t be fruitful, if India followed catch and kill policy again and again in the tormented Jammu and Kashmir.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani was profoundly shocked to receive the sad news of death of Abdul Rashid Sofi –Gazi, in mysterious circumstances near a railway-track at Baramulla, who was a sincere freedom fighter and had been serving the cause since early 1970s.
In 1990s, he served in Pakistan also. He demanded enquiry into his death, saying that the marks of injury were visible on his forehead. He paid tribute to the departed soul and prayed to Allah for his eternal blessings.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani expressed profound grief over the sad demise of the mother of Mukhtar Ahmad Waza-the leader of APHC in Kashmir and prayed to the Almighty Allah for heavenly blessings on the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family. NNI
