KARACHI: The security measures for the minorities in the province are being further beefed up.
This was stated by the Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan, on Thursday.
He was talking to a representative delegation of the Christian community at the Governor House here.
The delegation included Reverend father Benny Travas and Bishop Sadiq Danial.
The Governor said on the occasion that the two blasts at the Church in Peshawar were very tragic and painful and that this has saddened the entire nation and every segment of the society vehemently condemned this.
He termed the incident as a conspiracy against Pakistan and aimed at weakening it.
Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan said that the people of Pakistan along with the Christian community are determined that such incidents of terrorism cannot harm their unity and resolve.
He also pointed out that the Christian community has rendered appreciable services in all sphere of activities especially education and health.
Governor further said that they are true Pakistanis and that the entire nation is proud of them.
He said that at this critical juncture the Ulema have also played a very important role and contributed their part towards maintenance of inter-faith harmony.
Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan said that through inter-faith harmony we can defeat such a mindset.
He said that we have to communicate the message that the unity and cohesion can not be harmed.
Bishop Sadiq Danial thanked the Governor on behalf of the Christian community.
He said that the Christians are a peaceful community and mostly perform task of human service.
