LAHORE: Punjab regime has banned all residential schemes in 2000 hectares of land around Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Raiwind residence, media reports.
Punjab government issued a notification of change in the master plan of Raiwind land during month of March this year.
According to the changed master plan of lands, all land around Jati Umrah, residence of PM Sharif, has been converted into agricultural land from residential land and all schemes of residence have been banned there.
This change in master plan has turned costly residential plots, on 2000 hectares, around Jati Umrah into far cheaper agricultural land.
Most of the land around PM Sharif and his family’s private residence, Jati Umrah, is vacant and left useless or being utilized for agricultural purpose.
The District Administration of Raiwind has said in the notification that those residential schemes can be constructed on that land, which had been already approved by Punjab regime but no new private or government residential scheme can be constructed there.
This notification had been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC) but still it is undecided and under hearing there.
