Punjab opposition stages walk out over hike in petroleum prices

LAHORE: The opposition staged walkout from Punjab Assembly while protesting over increase in prices of petroleum products.

The MPAs of opposition parties gathered at stairs outside the house and chanted loud slogans against hike in petroleum products’ cost.

The opposition leader, Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, said on the occasion that a resolution will be tabled in the assembly against increase in prices of POL products.

The opposition raised issue of POL products’ price hike with start of assembly session this day. When the Speaker denied a resolution over the issue, the opposition started protest first and later on staged walk out from the house.

Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said on the occasion that PPP regime could not raise storm of inflation during last five years’ rule but the PML-N regime has done that in just three months only.

The opposition members vowed that they would definitely table a resolution against petroleum products’ price hike, as it would be a test of ruling party’s MPAs while casting votes over that motion.
