Police in action in Mandi Bahauddin, uncover blind murder case

MANDI BAHUDDIN: The investigation team at last managed to uncover the blind murder of teenage girl and arrested two culprits during a raid here on Tuesday.

An investigation team comprising sub-inspectors Urooj and Akhtar was constituted to trace the accused of the murder after body of a girl Robina was recovered from Mounj Canal Rajanpur.

The investigation teams gathered the evidences and after completion of formalities conducted raid in Badoo Chowk of Wasu during which two accused Ghulam Hussain and Qasim were arrested who admitted their crime.

The police during a raid arrested a proclaimed offender Zia ur Rehman and recovered weapons from his possession. The detainee was wanted by various police stations in different criminal cases including murder, attempt murder, kidnapping, drugs paddling and robberies.

Another accused involved in kidnapping of five-year girl from French Market was nabbed by police.

On directives of DPO Ameer Taimoor Khan, Incharge Saddar police station Mehdi Khan Ranjha installed temporary pickets across the city. During search of vehicles seven 30 bores pistols, dozens of rounds, a rifle of 8MM, twelve bore gun and other weapons were recovered. The police arrested several persons for carrying illegal arms.

Meanwhile, district and session judge Mandi Bahauddin sentenced lifetime imprisonment to two accused in gang rape of 12-year-old Sidra.
