ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will leave for New York tomorrow (Sunday) to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the General Assembly Session of the United Nations.
The Prime Minister will address the General Assembly session on September 27 to highlight Pakistan’s foreign policy guidelines, its point of view on various regional and international issues besides domestic priorities, the Foreign Office said. The Prime Minister in his address to the General Assembly will also dilate on the efforts of the present government to curb the menace of terrorism besides its endeavor to bring stability to the region.
During his week long stay in the New York, the Prime Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the General Assembly session. He will discuss various bilateral and regional issues with these leaders.
The Prime Minister is also expected to attend various events during his stay in New York including high-level meetings on millennium development goals sustainable development and nuclear disarmament.
