COLOMBO: Pakistan is participating in a three-day Defence Seminar 2013 which began in Colombo Tuesday.
The Sri Lankan Army has organized the seminar.
Pakistan will also display locally developed communication equipment at the Seminar.
According to a press release, a high level delegation will be representing Pakistan at the Defence Seminar 2013 organized by the Sri Lankan Army under the theme of “Post Conflict Sri Lanka: Challenges and Regional Stability” from 3-5 September 2013.
The Pakistani delegation includes Ambassador (Retired) Sohail Amin, President Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) Lieutenant General (Retired) Muhammad Masood Aslam and Brigadier Imran Munawar representing Pak Army.
Ambassador (Retired) Sohail Amin will deliver a paper on “Post Conflict Activity and Regional Stability; Drawing Parallels between Pakistan and Sri Lanka” at the Seminar.
Pakistan will also display indigenously developed communication equipment at the Defence Seminar 2013. National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation of Pakistan (NRTC) has set up a stall on the sidelines of Defence Seminar at Hotel Galadari. State of the art communication equipment manufactured in Pakistan will be on display at the stall during the course of seminar.
During his stay in Colombo, Ambassador (Retired) Sohail Amin will interact with Executive Director and Board Members of Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS), Lakshman Kadirgamer Institute for International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKIIRSS) and South Asia Policy and Research Institute.
A talk captioned, “Indo-Pak Geo-Strategic Relations, Impact on Region in General and Sri Lanka in Particular” by Ambassador (Retired) Sohail Amin is scheduled at International Centre for Ethnic Studies (ICES) on 5 September 2013 at 4:30 pm. NNI
