Pakistan made right decision to talk to Taliban, says Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the negotiations with Taliban is the only right path that can lead to better circumstances, adding Pakistan made the decision to negotiate of its own accord with no foreign pressure.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the decision was taken not to butter any foreign power, accentuating the All Parties Conference’s decision of negotiations was not made to pave the way for military operation.

The wave of terrorism, he said, is a consequence of Nine Eleven, asserting a dictator dispatched army to the FATA, spawning the wretched conditions in the area.

Chaudhry Nisar noted the Rangers arrested 158 criminals involved in target-killings, extortion activities and other grim crimes within last four days in Karachi, adding 111 weapons and 1862 bullets of different sorts were recovered from the miscreants.

The interior minister remarked the national security is a sensitive issue and the government is proceeding gradually, adding the preliminary draft of national security policy has been readied; however, the suggestions are awaited from the provinces.
