Nine persons killed in cracker attack & violence in Karachi

KARACHI: At least nine persons were killed and several others wounded in fresh spate of target killing and violent incidents in different localities of the metropolis on Friday. The security personnel during targeted operation in various areas of the city arrested 123 suspects and recovered arms from their possession.

According to police, unknown armed men gunned one person in Dawood Chorangi area of Landhi.

Two citizens were shot dead in Maleer and Gulshan Mamar areas. Another man was killed in firing of unknown persons in Orangi town area. One person was killed as a result of the firing of unknown culprits.

Karachi Police chief Shahid Hayat said that four people were killed and at least 15 injured when unknown miscreants hurled a hand grenade at a Imambargah in Gulsan-e-Bahar Chowk area of Landhi.

Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah summoned report regarding incident from IG police Shahid Nadeem Baloch.

Meanwhile four people were killed in separate firing incidents in different areas of the city Karachi.

The police and Rangers during targeted operation in various areas including Ittehad Town, Shah Rasool Colony, Clifton, Nazimabad and other areas of the city rounded up 123 suspects and recovered arms and drugs from their possession.
