ISLAMABAD: Iran, Spain, France, Hungary and United States have condoled loss of lives in the devastating earthquake in Balochistan and offered humanitarian assistance for victims.
In a statement issued by the Iranian Embassy here, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Alireza Haghighian said, “I am deeply grieved and express sympathy over the loss of lives and property in the recent earthquake in Balochistan, Pakistan and present condolences to government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan”. While expressing his complete solidarity with the Pakistani brothers, he also announced readiness of Iran to provide assistance to the people of Pakistan. France offered humanitarian assistance for the earthquake-stricken people.
“France stands ready for any request of humanitarian assistance,” saida statement of Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued by French Embassy here.
Expressing solidarity with Pakistanis, France conveyed its condolences to the relatives of the victims.
“It is with emotion that we have received the news of the death toll of the earthquake that took place on September 24 in Awaran district of Balochistan,” the statement concluded.
A statement issued by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Madrid said, “The government of Spain has learned with deep sadness the news relating to a major earthquake that occurred on September 24, in Pakistan’s region of Balochistan, which has caused more than 200 deaths and a large number of injured and persons who have lost their homes.”
“At this time of sorrow, Spain wants to express its deepest condolences to the friendly government of Pakistan, and specially, to the affected families, for the terrible consequences of the earthquake, and to communicate its solid artifact this difficult time.”
U.S. Ambassador Richard G. Olson extended condolences to the families who lost loved ones.
“Our thoughts are with the injured and those who have lost so muchin this tragedy. We are closely monitoring the situation. The United States stands ready to assist the people of Pakistan.”
The government of Hungary has expressed shock and grief over the loss of precious human lives and property.
Embassy of Hungary in a condolence message here said the government assures people of Pakistan of its sympathy and solidarity for extreme damage and loss of life caused by the devastating earthquake.
