KARACHI: The invitation to the Muttahaida Quami Movement (MQM) to attend the special session of the federal cabinet has been cancelled.
MQM spokesman, Wasay Jalil confirmed that the invitation to attend the Wednesday’s session to discuss the law and order situation in the city had been cancelled.
The decision to cancel the initiation comes on the same day as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s arrival in Karachi for a two-day visit.
MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar had been invited to attend the session on directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. It was expected that the federal cabinet would hear the stance of the MQM seeking the deployment of army in Karachi.
