PESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department on Monday predicted rain-thundershower at isolated places in Malakand, Peshawar and Hazara divisions during next 24 hours that would hopefully bring temperature down.
The Met Office Spokesman told APP here that seasonal low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas whereas weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating into north-eastern of the country. A shallow westerly wave is also prevailing over upper parts of the country.
In next 24 hours, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country, however, rain-thundershower is expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, D.G.Khan, Malakand, Zhob, Peshawar, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Also, the weather of Kohat, Parachinar, Peshawar and Abbottabad districts will remain partly cloudy with chances of rain during the same period.
In next 48 hours, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country, however rain-thundershower is expected at isolated places in Northeast Islamabad, Northeast Punjab (Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Lahore divisions), Hazara divisions and Kashmir.
Isolated rain-thundershower occurred in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in last 24 hours.
Maximum rain was recorded at Lahore (A/P) 20milimeter followed by Lahore (PBO) 9mm, Kakul 3mm, Astore 2mm, Hunza and Murree 1 mm. The maximum temperature was recorded at Dalbandin 41 C, Bhakkar and Nokkundi 40 C while pollen count today remained 167 per m3 of air.
