Karachi: Truckload of weapons seized; over 190 criminals arrested

KARACHI: A truck loaded with automatic weapons and drugs was seized during a raid in Karachi on Monday, media reported.

According to Rangers spokesman, Pakistan Rangers Sindh conducted a raid on the hideout of Peoples Amn Committee’s Darvesh near Old Sabzi Mandi and recovered a truck which contained automatic weapons and huge quantity of narcotics hidden in apple crates.

Earlier, the law-enforcers carried out raids in Mehran Town, Baloch Colony, Haji Mureed Goth, Karnal Basti, Quaidabad, Gabol Park, Tesar Town and other areas, rounding up 48 suspected criminals.

Rangers said the suspects included target-killers, extortionists and members of Lyari gang war, adding that most of the criminals were associated with local political groups.

Meanwhile, police also sprang into action and arrested 198 suspects in the city during their crackdown against criminals.
