KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan has decided to quit the post he has held since December 27, 2002, over targeted operations conducted by the law enforcement agencies in Karachi, media reports on Saturday.
Sources said that he was asked by the top Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leadership to quit the office.
Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad has left for Dubai late yesterday on a private tour. Following the protest by MQM against the targeted operation in Karachi, Governor Ebad left for Dubai after tendering a plea of leave for an unspecified period of time.
When approached for comment, Governor House remained non-committal over the date of his return in the country.
