KARACHI: Police on Saturday cracked the murder case of a 13-year-old schoolgirl, whose dead body was dumped at Sea View earlier this week, and arrested two suspects including a woman.
Karachi police’s Anti-Violent Crime Cell claimed to have arrested a female relative of the victim and her two male accomplices. The prime suspect is a step sister of the girl’s mother.
CPLC head Ahmed Chinoy says that the girl was murdered as a result of personal family feud.
The girl was found dead at Sea View on Thursday in her school uniform.
She was picked from her school by the accused, telling the administration that her mother was unwell.
The girl was later subjected to sexual assault before being strangled to death as she had identified the kidnappers.
According to reports, the accused had a property dispute with the girl’s family. She kidnapped the girl to force the family to settle the matter. But her family refused to pay the ransom following which the school girl was murdered.
On Friday, Sindh Education Minister Nisar Khuhro cancelled the school’s registration and constituted a three-member committee to probe the incident. He also asked officials to collect data of school vans.
