ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Information Secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira on Monday urged the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to show restraint, saying that workers of all parties, including PPP, were also arrested during ongoing operation in Karachi.
MQM says that the operation against criminals has been turned into anti-MQM action.
In a chat with media persons in National Press Club Islamabad, Kaira said that his party would not make any attempt to get weaker the government. He said that if police were involved in victimization, courts should be approached.
“We had agreed to hold party-basis local body elections under the Charter of Democracy (CoD). But the Punjab government was now going to conduct non-party polls,” he said.
