Five more dengue cases confirmed in Lahore

LAHORE: Five more dengue cases were confirmed in the city on Wednesday, raising the number of patients to 71 in the province.

According to Health department, the surge in the disease has been linked with the torrential rains and accumulated water following rains.

Three more dengue patients including 22-year-old Ahmed Raza, 25-year-old Farzana and 23-year-old Junaid were brought to Mayo Hospital on Wednesday.

As of November 2011, the disease has killed over 300 people and over 14,000 were infected by this mosquito-borne disease in the country. Majority of the people infected were from Lahore.
