Fazlur Rahman says, some powers want to incapacitate talks with Taliban

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Wednesday said some powers are trying to incapacitate talks with Taliban.

After casting his vote in Tank-D.I. Khan NA-25 by-poll, he said while talking to media that incidents like Upper Dir should not become a hindrance. He further said that both government and Taliban should be aware of such elements who try to rebel the talks. He added that such generous acts like the release of Gomal Zam should not be repressed.

He said that the leaderships of the political parties and the army collectively gave the mandate to the government for talks and this should now be carried out.
