ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory Police have arrested a car lifter and recovered 135 wine bottles besides impounding 72 bikes and six vehicles during general hold up, a police spokesman said.
According to details, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan has directed all police officials to ensure effective security and patrolling measures in their respective areas. Police officials have been directed to take strict action against vehicles being driven without documents and criminal elements.
Additional SHO Koral police station Inspector Akhtar recovered 135 wine bottles from a car (Karachi C-9379) during special checking at `Kirpa Chowk’.
SHO Margallah police station Altaf Aziz Khattak also arrested an Afghan national Abdul Rasool involved in car lifting and recovered a corolla car from him. He has also confessed his involvement in car lifting incidents and further investigation is underway from him.
In compliance of these directions, Islamabad police impounded 72 bikes and six vehicles during general hold up. Black sheets were removed from 19 tinted glasses vehicles while police also apprehended 25 suspects during search operation in various areas of the city.
