ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to Jamil Akbar Bugti with the direction to appear in the court for expression of his stance regarding Akbar Bugti murder case.
Two-member bench of apex court headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk held hearing of a petition filed for interim bail of former president Pervez Musharraf and while passing the remarks said that the court is hearing a common case rather than of a special personality, so the petitioner should appear in the court in person.
Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer Ibrahim Satti argued that courts have granted bails to his client in most of the cases on merit; there is no proper evidence against his client (Musharraf) in the Bugti murder case, so he should be granted bail accordingly.
Additional Prosecutor Balochistan said that the case has many legal and constitutional complicacies; so the petitioner of the case, Jamil Bugti, should be issued a notice.
Keeping in view the officer’s request, the court issued notice to Jamil Bugti, the petitioner, with the direction to state his stance before the court in accordance with rules and regulations.
The court adjourned the hearing for two weeks.
