ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Thursday that there is a need of a targeted operation in Karachi against extortionists and criminals, media reports.
Speaking in the National Assembly today‚ he said a special meeting of the Cabinet will be held at Governor House in Karachi on Tuesday to discuss the prevailing law and order situation in the provincial metropolis.
Opposing handing over of Karachi to Army‚ he said this will be disrespect to the mandate of the Sindh Government‚ assuring that all the steps will be taken after consultation with the provincial government.
The minister said that Rangers have not failed in Karachi.
‘It is the time to bring the facts in front of the nation and the judiciary must support whatever the government is intending to do in Karachi’, he said.
