Kabul: A suicide bomber killed at least six people and injured 22 at a bank in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, a medical official said.
“There are policemen among the dead and wounded,” an official at the Kandahar state hospital said, asking not to be named.
“People were standing in front of the Kabul Bank branch to get their salaries, when the bomber on foot blew himself up,” said Javed Faisal, spokesman for Kandahar provincial governor.
Most of the dead and injured are civil servants, with some policemen among them as well, he said, but did not give exact numbers.
Eight people including a district governor were killed on Friday when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives at the gate of a mosque in the northern province of Kunduz.
